Linen, a hero of the sustainable fiber!

Linen is one of the most sustainable plant fibers that we can use for fabric productions. Compared to conventional cotton, (non-organic), considerably less water, fertilizer and toxic chemicals are used to produce it, and the fiber is known for its lasting strength.

Linen /ˈlɪnən/ is a textile made from the fibers of the flax plant. Linen is laborious to manufacture, but the fiber is very strong, absorbent and dries faster than cotton. Garments made of linen are valued for their exceptional coolness and freshness in hot and humid weather.

In December 2006, the General Assembly of the United Nations proclaimed 2009 to be the International Year of Natural Fibres in order to raise people's awareness of linen and other natural fibers.
